Neurodegeneration · Biomarker discovery · Proteomics · Machine learning

I study the molecular and genetic underpinnings of biological heterogeneity, with a focus on Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. My work combines high-dimensional molecular data, statistical modeling, and scientific software to investigate disease variation and biomarker performance.

Selected research

Computational investigations of molecular heterogeneity, disease classification, and biomarker performance.

Plasma proteomics · Machine learning

Differential diagnosis of dementia

Developed and externally evaluated SomaScan 11K proteomic models to distinguish dementia with Lewy bodies from Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, incorporating nested cross-validation and independent-cohort validation.

NULISA · Biomarkers

Tau and amyloid in Alzheimer's disease

Compared individual tau analytes and tau–amyloid composite biomarkers, assessing diagnostic performance and sensitivity to demographic and genetic covariates.

Genetics · Metabolomics

Biological variation across genotypes

Investigated how genetic background, nutritional environment, tissue, and biological sex interact to shape metabolic phenotypes in Drosophila.

Background

I am a postdoctoral scholar in the University of Washington Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology, working on computational proteomics and biomarkers in neurodegeneration. I earned my PhD in Laboratory Medicine & Pathology at the University of Washington in 2024.

My research trajectory began with an interest in biological variation and genetics, expanded through the biology of aging and metabolism, and now focuses on the heterogeneous molecular processes underlying dementia. I also bring earlier professional experience in technical art, interactive visualization, and multidisciplinary software production.
